First movement, March, is in a Satie like style and was first written for a Teacher's College group.

Movement two Molto grave e delicato is an orchestration of an early piano piece.

The third movement, Vivace, was especially written to complete the cycle.

The first version was completed in 1979 and a revised version in 1982 for double wind, three percussionists and strings. The final version with major changes (especially to the third movement) is from 2023.
